2. Preliminary Records with the Treatment Coordinator

You will first meet with a Treatment Coordinator (TC). They will guide you through the initial diagnostic portion of the visit, which typically includes:

  • Digital Photographs: Clear images of the teeth and facial profile.

  • X-rays: We may also take an X-ray if required to get a more detailed look at the jaw structure and tooth roots.

3. Clinical Examination with the Orthodontist

Once your records are ready, the orthodontist will perform a thorough clinical exam. They will review the photos and any necessary X-rays with you while examining tooth alignment and bite.

  • For Children: The doctor will specifically assess jaw development and the progress of permanent teeth.

  • For Teens and Adults: The doctor will focus on alignment, bite function, and the health of the supporting bone and gum tissues.

4. Collaborative Discussion

This is an open conversation where the doctor explains their findings. We will discuss the best treatment options for your lifestyle—whether that involves traditional braces, clear aligners, or growth guidance tools. If the patient is a child, we will discuss whether immediate treatment is needed or if we should simply monitor their development through periodic check-ups.

5. Your Personalized Treatment Plan

The orthodontist will propose a customized strategy. This plan includes the recommended appliances, the estimated length of treatment, and the specific milestones we aim to achieve.

6. Financial Policies & Insurance

We believe in complete transparency regarding the investment in your smile. During this part of the visit, we will:

  • Review our complete financial policies and procedures.

  • Provide a clear breakdown of treatment fees.

  • Insurance Coordination: While our office does not offer direct billing, we recommend and will provide a pre-authorization to be sent to your insurance carrier once a fee is given. This helps you confirm exactly what your provider will reimburse.

  • Discuss flexible, in-office payment plans to ensure treatment fits your budget.

7. Scheduling Your Next Step

If you are ready to proceed, we will schedule the appointment to officially begin treatment. For those not quite ready for braces or aligners, we will set a future date to monitor growth and development.
