First Visits & Financials

First Visits

Starting orthodontic treatment can feel a bit overwhelming, especially if it’s your first visit!  But don’t worry, we’ll  walk you through every step of the way!
  • Upon arrival at our clinic you will be greeted by a friendly receptionist.
  •  Our treatment coordinator will welcome you into one of our consult rooms where they will take a few photos of your smile and teeth for your chart.
  •  Soon after talking with the treatment coordinator, our orthodontist will introduce themselves.
    •  Communication: Our orthodontist  will ask about any concerns or issues you have with your teeth or bite. This is your chance to explain any problems you’re experiencing and what you hope to achieve with orthodontic treatment.
    • Examination: Our orthodontist will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and jaw. This may include checking your bite and assessing the alignment of your teeth.  We may take x-rays if necessary to get a clear picture of your situation.
    • Treatment Options: Our orthodontist will discuss the various types of orthodontic treatments available, such as different braces and aligners, to find the option that best suits your needs and goals. They will go over the pros and cons of each option, including how they work and how long the treatment might take.
    • Cost and Insurance: Our treatment coordinator will provide you with information regarding  the cost of treatment and any payment plans or insurance coverage available. This helps you understand the financial aspect and plan accordingly.
    • Personalized Plan: Based on your specific needs, the orthodontist will create a customized treatment plan. They’ll explain the steps involved and what you can expect throughout the process.

Your first orthodontist appointment is the perfect time to ask any questions or share any concerns you might have!  Don’t be afraid to ask about anything you’re unsure of. Our team at Lumina Orthodontics  are here to help you feel comfortable and confident every step of the way and ensure you understand your treatment plan fully.

  • At the end of your appointment, you’ll be given instructions on what to do next. This might include:
    • Scheduling Follow-Up Appointments: You’ll set up appointments for getting your braces or aligners fitted and for any follow-up visits.
    • Understanding Orthodontic Appliances and Their Uses: You’ll receive guidance on orthodontic appliances and their uses, ensuring you know how to care for braces, aligners, and other devices
    • Financials and Insurance:  We will go over the financials involved with your treatment and our office policies around payment and insurance.
